Watching Theology is a program my wife and I started nearly two years ago. It is designed to critically examine the theological, philosophical, and thematic elements within films. It has been interesting to try to make this work. Our lives have been stuffed full, so it looked like this era was over. However, I am attempting to revive it for a third season. The bad news is that Melissa is not planning to join me (or at least, not regularly). Still, some people find something better than nothing.
I recently recorded an episode on Clark Gregg’s Choke, a 2008 adaptation of Chuck Palahniuk’s novel by the same name. The film may not be perfect, but it did provide a number of thoughtful interpretations, edits, and ammendments of Palahniuk’s novel. If you’re interested, you can listen to the show at WatchingTheology.com (which forwards to SteveBrownEtc.com) or subscribe to the podcast.
