My professional background includes teaching (first grade through university), newspaper (design, production), and writing (technical writing, editing). In all these worlds, I’ve worked with words.
My educational life involves undergrad work in art and education. Then come the grad degrees in theology and biblical studies, English language and literature, and creative writing (an MFA through the Rainier Writing Workshop at Pacific Lutheran University).
I am a recent transplant to Portland and am adjusting to a life that is nearly memoir-worthy (so many unexpected changes). I’m not ready for that memoir. But, I am writing.
This site contains some of my fiction, poetry, and nonfiction. It also houses my Weekly Reading podcast, which is dormant—but, like Mt St Helens to my north, could wake up.
Thanks for stopping by.
